Follow these steps to configure your Contact Types

  1. Go to Admin > Manage Codes > Contact Codes > Contact Type. The Contact Type Codes window will open.
  2. Click the New button. The Selected Code text fields will empty.
  3. Enter the Name and Description of your new Contact Type.
  4. Click Save. Your new Contact Type will appear in the Codes Data Grid

  • We want to simplify our Contact code selection - preferably deleting some and adding others.  It appears that if a code is deleted that any Contact entered with that contact type will be deleted also.  Is this correct?  What is the best approach to accomplish what we hope to do?  Is it possible to amend/rename and adjust the description of an existing code type without deleting previous Contact entries using that previous named Contact type?  Thank you.

  • Barbara-

You can change the contact type value/description in the following location in WebLink Connect:

Admin -> Manage Codes -> Contact Codes -> Contact Types

While a contact record isn't deleted if you delete the corresponding Contact Type code, I would imagine it would damage reporting so I would advise against deleting any codes in WebLink Connect.  Renaming the Contact Type code will not automatically update the contact types of previous contact records entered, the change will only affect future entries.
