What data is displayed on the Membership Dashboard, and how do I use it?

Resolution

The Membership Dashboard combines two key membership data groups - joins vs. drops year to date, and membership segmentation for a detailed view of your members.

The Joins/Drops table captures changes in the Member Activity codes with the Join and Drop Activity Types. It does not record any other Membership Activity. Each month shows the joins and drops for the month. Hovering over the graph displays the numerical value of the join or drop for that month. You can interact with each of these segments as well.

To work with the profiles that match that criteria (e.g. Profiles of who Joined in August), click that bar on the graph. An action menu will appear. The first line on the menu tells you the data group you clicked. Following this are the various ways you can interact with this data.

1. Work with Profiles: This populates the data grid of the Profile Selector with all of the profiles that meet this criteria.

2. View Profiles: This opens all of the profiles that meet this criteria in the Profile Browser.

3. Export Profiles: This exports the Profile_View table information of all the profiles that meet this criteria to a CSV file, which can be opened in Excel or other spreadsheet program.

4. Email Profiles: This populates the data grid of the Communicator with the profile information of all profiles that meet this criteria. If you want to communicate with additional related profiles of these profiles, use the Work with Profiles option.

5. Map Profiles: This plots the addresses of the profiles that meet this criteria on a map, allowing you to track trends by location.

6. Run Join Report or Run Drop Report: This report will vary slightly. If you click on a bar for join information, it will run your default Join Report for the time period selected. If you click on a bar for drop information, it will run your default Drop Report for the time period selected.

The Segmentation table slices your membership into a visual representation of who your members are based on different criteria. You can select to view your membership by Full-Time Equivalents, Length of Time as Member, NAICS Code, Amount of Dues, Primary Category, Zip Code, or City.

Once you have chosen the type of segmentation, the report loads the total number of Members broken down by segmentation, the total Dues for each segment, and the number of Full-Time employees by segment. Holding your mouse over the reveals the amount of each segment. This type of information helps you target new potential members.

The legend appears on the right of the screen, breaking down the colored segments by chosen segmentation type. Hold your mouse over the colored areas in the pie charts to view the actual amount of that segment: the total number of members in the segment, the total dues amount for that segment, and the total number of full-time employees for that segment.

In addition to the totals, you can also interact with the data in each segment. Click on the segment you wish to work with to gain access to the Actions Menu.

The top bar displays the group that you will be working with using this menu. You have these options below this group title:

6. Run Segmentation Report: This runs your default Segmentation Report on the profiles that meet this criteria.
