Searching for Tasks

There are several ways to find and open a Task within WebLink Connect. Depending on the Task and what you need to do with it, any of these options can get you to the Tasks Main window, which is where you can configure and update the Task. These are the areas from which you can open a Task:

  • The Task Selector
  • The Quick Actions Task Bar
  • From within a Project
  • The My Tasks Dashboard
  • The Tasks tab of a Profile Record
  • The Tasks & Projects Home Screen

Using the Task Selector

  1. Go to Tasks > Select Tasks. The Task Selector will open.
  2. Use any of the Search Criteria boxes, or enter a Task ID. If you have more than one Task ID to enter, separate them with a comma mark
  3. Click Preview. The resulting Tasks will appear in the Data Grid.

Opening Tasks from the Quick Actions Bar

  1. On the left side of WebLink Connect, expand the Quick Actions Bar, if it is not expanded already.
  2. On the bottom of the Quick Actions Bar, click the Tasks and Projects menu. The Tasks, Projects list of Quick Actions will appear
  3. If you know the ID of the Task you want to find, enter it in the Task Quick Search box. The Task will appear as a link below the search box
  4. If you don't know the ID number, click the Open/edit an existing task link. The Task Selector Window will open. Follow the steps for Using the Task Selector, above.

Opening Tasks from within a Project

  1. Open the Project the Task is Contained within.
  2. Click the Tasks tab to view a Data Grid of the Tasks associated with this Project
  3. In the Data Grid, use the Ctrl or Shift keys to highlight the tasks you want to open.
  4. Click the View Selected Tasks button, or Right -click in the Data Grid and select View Selected Task(s)
  5. The Tasks Main window will open with all the loaded tasks available for editing
  6. If you opened multiple Tasks at once, click the < or > buttons, or select the Task name from the Drop Down menu to move from Task to Task.

Opening Tasks from the My Tasks Dashboard

  1. Go to the My Dashboard tab (Workspace > View My Dashboard).
  2. Click the My Tasks tab.
  3. If you want to filter the Data Grid to show only tasks with a Due Date within a specific Data Range, click the Limit by Date Range (Date Due) checkbox and set the dates accordingly, then click Refresh.
  4. In the Data Grid, use the Ctrl or Shift keys to highlight the tasks you want to open. Right -click in the Data Grid and select View Selected Task(s).
  5. The Tasks Main window will open with all the loaded tasks available for editing
  6. If you opened multiple Tasks at once, click the < or > buttons, or select the Task name from the Drop Down menu to move from Task to Task.

Opening Tasks from the Tasks tab of a Profile Record

  1. Find the Profile Record you want to use and click the Tasks Tab.
  2. If you want to filter the Data Grid to show only tasks with a Due Date within a specific Data Range, enter a date range in the Tasks Between date boxes, then click Refresh.
  3. In the Data Grid, use the Ctrl or Shift keys to highlight the tasks you want to open. Right -click in the Data Grid and select View Selected Task(s).
  4. The Tasks Main window will open with all the loaded tasks available for editing
  5. If you opened multiple Tasks at once, click the < or > buttons, or select the Task name from the Drop Down menu to move from Task to Task.

Opening Tasks from the Tasks & Projects Home Screen

  1. Go to the Home Screen (Workspace > Home)
  2. On the Quick Actions Bar, click the Tasks and Projects menu
  3. In the main area of the Home Screen, a list of inks to Tasks you have recently view will be displayed.
  4. Click the link of the Task you want to open. The Tasks Main window will appear.
